Martha Stewart’s 5-Product Anti-Aging Skin Care Routine

As much as Gen Z might have their finger on the pulse of fashion trends or makeup, I don’t care to hear their skin care recommendations. This is doubly true when it comes to anti-aging products—what could someone born after 2000 possibly know about the passage of time? Instead, I turn to celebrities who age gracefully and proudly, the way I hope to in a few decades. At the top of this aspirational list is 84-year-old Martha Stewart, and thankfully, I have quite a bit of information on the anti-aging skin care products she uses.

Stewart’s routine is a high-low mix of products that, despite their varying prices, are all effective. On the lower end of the scale, you’ll find Mario Badescu’s Super Rich Olive Body Lotion and on the opposite end of the price spectrum, Sisley Paris’s Black Rose Precious Face Oil, with the A30 Elemental Serum from her own brand, Elm Biosciences, in between.

Can you really expect much from a $10 body lotion? As evidenced by Stewart’s gams and thousands of five-star ratings, the answer is yes. The titular hero ingredient, olive oil, is collagen-increasing, skin-barrier-improving, and deeply hydrating. One shopper said it made their “alligator skin very soft.” Another echoed that sentiment, saying, “It keeps my extremely dry skin hydrated…it works better than anything else I have tried in the last 50 years.”

Martha Stewart used her impeccable taste and decades of skin care experience to launch her own brand, Elm Biosciences, alongside dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, MD. It took a whopping five years to perfect this slightly tinted, antioxidant-filled serum that has a laundry list of benefits, including plumper, brighter, smoother, and less-wrinkled skin. A shopper in their late 60s said, “my skin has not felt this soft since I was a teenager.” Another shopper said they quickly saw a “firmer, softer, and [more] radiant” complexion.

Clé de Peau Beauté Eye Contour Cream Supreme

Clé de Peau Beauté has two of the most enviable fans in the celebrity sphere—Stewart and Nicole Kidman. Retinol, ginger, and citrus make for a surprisingly efficacious trifecta that leads to more elastic, wrinkle-free, and plump skin with reduced puffiness and dark circles. It “tightens skin around the eye the second you apply it,” a 76-year-old shopper said. It’s also been praised for its eye bag-eliminating benefits: “The difference is noticeable. My eyes look so much brighter,” another shopper said.

I won’t sugarcoat it: $300 is a lot to spend on a serum. However, if you’re willing to indulge, Stewart’s ageless complexion and hundreds of five-star ratings say it’s worth it. The dry oil (i.e., it doesn’t feel oily and absorbs almost instantly with no residue) is packed with black rose extract, vitamin E, algae, and plum. It’s an antioxidant-filled combination that battles inflammation, minimizes pores, brightens dark age spots, evens texture, and plumps wrinkles.

The results are “remarkable,” per one shopper who added, “my dermatologist can’t believe how healthy and well-nourished my mature skin looks.” Another said it made their skin “look firm and feel smooth.”

Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Plumping Serum

Merit only has one serum—it doesn’t need another because this does it all thanks to hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and caffeine. These ingredients are proven to reduce the appearance of pores while improving circulation, hydration, brightness, and texture. One shopper said the “overall healthier glow” they’ve seen has gotten them “so many compliments about the health of [their] skin.” A 72-year-old reviewer said it makes their skin “look a bit younger…and feel so soft and smooth.”
