The first week of Ulta’s Fall 21 Days of Beauty Event is almost over. From now until September 19, you can save up to 50% across all beauty categories, including skin care, hair care, makeup and more. Although this is a three-week sale, deals change daily, so you only have 24 hours to purchase your favorite items from brands like Olaplex, Supergoop and Solawave. 

As a beauty reporter for NBC Select, I frequently cover sales from Ulta, Sephora and Dermstore, so I know which skin- and hair-care deals are worth it. For this first week, I highlighted products I’ve previously reported on that are expert-recommended or NBC Select-staff favorites.

This recently released moisturizer from Strivectin uses vitamin C to even out your skin tone and improve dull skin as you sleep. It also reduces discoloration and dark spots and improves skin texture with kojic acid, according to the brand. “I’ve only had it for a few days since it just came out, but I’ve been loving how rich and genuinely moisturizing it is,” says NBC Select editor Lindsay Schneider, who received a sample from the brand. “This feels really expensive and luxurious, which isn’t surprising given Strivectin’s other products. I’m a longtime fan of the brand’s neck cream for the same reasons — it’s thick and rich-feeling — and this new night cream is quickly also becoming a favorite of mine.” 

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Day Cream SPF 23

This face moisturizer with SPF prevents potential UV damage and focuses on calming the skin and improving the appearance of existing fine lines, according to the brand. Reviewers say they love how luxurious this cream makes them feel since it has a soft, silky, delicate texture and even comes with a spatula to scoop and apply the sunscreen. They also say it moisturizes their skin all day without being too heavy or greasy under their makeup.
