Key to good skin and hair lies in the gut

JSHealth was founded by nutritionist and author Jessica Sepel.

Speaking at our Growth Asia Summit in Singapore, she said: “From my time as a nutritionist, I can confirm without a doubt that beauty starts from within and this is the way of the future.”

“Supplementation in simple terms is really just a way to take therapeutic doses of powerful nutrients. When it comes to tackling our beauty needs, we must address them in a holistic way and come to understand the intrinsic link between our internal health and beauty to achieve long lasting results.”

The science behind ingestible beauty

According to Sepel, treatments will be ineffective if they only focus on relieving the symptoms without addressing the root causes. To unlock beauty from within, she advocates targeting gut health with appropriate doses of the right nutrients.

The effectiveness of ingestible beauty products lies in their ability to deliver therapeutic doses of powerful nutrients and minerals. Sepel emphasises the importance of high-strength therapeutic doses, explaining, “That’s how you feel the effects of the product.”

This approach not only targets symptoms but also addresses underlying health issues that manifest as skin and hair problems, which can be linked to gut health.

“Our gut microbiome is linked to many other facets of our well-being. The gut microbiome, which houses 70-80% of our immune system, plays a crucial role in regulating mood and skin health. Disruptions in the gut microbiome can lead to inflammatory responses, causing skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.
